A bit late to the table, perhaps – J.D. Power has recently praised Sub-Zero for Highest in Customer Satisfaction for Refrigerators. Even more intriguing, Miele was ranked Highest in Customer Satisfaction for Dishwashers for the second consecutive year, while Wolf and LG both tied Customer Satisfaction for Cooktops.

While we don’t put much stock in survey companies such as J.D. Power and Consumer Reports these days, we do like to congratulate companies that deserve the recognition.

As an aside, I will explain our reasoning:

Survey rankings are problematic when survey companies don’t take into account the market share and more importantly, the consumer base and expectations of each brand. (e.g. a Wolf customer has vastly different expectations than an LG customer)

Rating brands on consumer feedback surveys is a tricky business and many times an ethical minefield, especially when they’re selling consumer data to some of the same brands they’re ranking.

As always, our recommended source of information when looking for a new appliance brand to buy is to ask your friends, other consumers, and even your local appliance salesman. And when in doubt, ask us!
