LG’s new LFX31935ST is one full-featured french door refrigerator. Also their most expensive – the LG French Door Refrigerator with Blast Chiller has every bell and whistle you can ask for. Over 30 cu.ft. of storage space, plenty of shelf and door storage space, three tiered freezer compartment, and slim ice maker make this unit perfect for anyone who likes to fill their fridge to the max.

According to LG, the blast chiller will take room temp items such as champagne or coke and bring them down to temp in 5 minutes. The LG LFX31935ST French-door refrigerator comes equipped with a 13″ tall ice and water dispenser on the door, which should easily accommodate most glass sizes. It also features a unique Four-Compartment Crisper System, which provides an easier way to organize fruits and vegetables in one of two humidity-controlled crisper drawers.

LG Refrigerator Blast ChillerWhile there are many “firsts” for LG here, for a refrigerator at this price point, there isn’t enough to make us think this is a worthwhile deal. Its Linear Compressor (a fancy word for single compressor) and dual evaporators aren’t anything to write home about, and the single ice maker will surely make too little ice to accommodate any family larger than four. And at a retail price of $3,850, it’s by far one of the most expensive french-doors on the market. It’s 10 year compressor warranty is nice, but that is all it covers and LG isn’t exactly known for their stellar service. Quite the contrary actually.

Verdict: Consumer demand for a blast chiller remains to be seen.
